Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FaithPal mobile application and any related services (the "Service"). By using FaithPal, you accept these Terms of Service.

1. Use of the Service

FaithPal is provided for personal, non-commercial use. The Service offers AI-powered voice conversations for spiritual guidance, prayer support, and Catholic faith education. Users must be at least 4 years old to use FaithPal, with parental guidance recommended for children under 13.

You agree not to misuse the Service or attempt to access it using methods other than the interface and instructions we provide. The Service is designed to supplement, not replace, personal spiritual direction and pastoral care.

3. Billing and Payment Terms

3.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store using Apple's secure payment system. By subscribing to FaithPal Plus, you agree to pay the subscription fee (currently $19.99 USD per month until November 5, 2025, then $9.99 USD per month from November 6, 2025 onwards), plus any applicable taxes required by your jurisdiction.

3.2 Billing Cycle

• Free plan: Access to prayers, scripture, chat, and other features at no cost
• Plus subscribers: Billed monthly, every 30 days from subscription start date
• Subscription renewals are processed automatically unless cancelled

3.3 Auto-Renewal

Your FaithPal Plus subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the current subscription rate ($19.99/month until November 5, 2025, then $9.99/month from November 6, 2025 onwards).

3.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. If we change the price of your subscription, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance through the App Store. Your consent to the new price will be required to continue your subscription.

4. Free Trial and Promotional Offers

Additional Promotional Offers

From time to time, we may offer additional free trials or promotional pricing for FaithPal Plus. Unless otherwise stated, promotional offers are typically limited to first-time subscribers and one per Apple ID. If you subscribe to a promotional offer, you will be informed of any charges before they occur, and you can cancel at any time before the promotional period ends to avoid charges.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

6.1 How to Cancel

You may cancel your FaithPal Plus subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Select FaithPal Plus
5. Tap Cancel Subscription

6.2 Effect of Cancellation

When you cancel your subscription, you will continue to have access to FaithPal Plus features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the Free plan with 10 minutes of voice time per month.

6.3 Refunds

All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by law or as determined by Apple's refund policies. To request a refund, you must contact Apple Support directly through your Apple ID account, as we do not have the ability to process refunds for App Store purchases.

7. In-App Purchases and Restore

FaithPal uses in-app purchases for subscription management. All features and functionality within the app, including access to extended voice conversation time, must be unlocked through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not accept payment through any other method.

If you delete and reinstall the app, or install it on a new device, you can restore your purchases by signing in with the same Apple ID and using the "Restore Purchases" option in the app's subscription settings.

• Each subscription is for individual use only and may not be shared
• You may use your subscription on multiple devices logged into the same Apple ID
• Commercial use of the Service is prohibited
• You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service
• Systematic or automated use of the Service is not permitted

9. Content and Spiritual Guidance

FaithPal provides information and guidance rooted in Catholic faith and teaching. Our AI assistant draws from Catholic doctrine, scripture, tradition, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. While we strive to ensure accuracy and orthodoxy in our responses:

• The content is for informational and educational purposes only
• It should not replace personal spiritual direction or pastoral counseling
• For sacramental matters or serious spiritual concerns, consult a priest
• In emergencies or crisis situations, contact appropriate professional help

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at faithpal.ai/privacy. Key points include:

• All spiritual discussions remain confidential
• Voice conversations are stored securely with a 30-day retention policy
• Conversations older than 30 days are automatically deleted to protect your privacy
• Payment information is handled entirely by Apple
• We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties

11. User Conduct

You agree to use FaithPal in a manner consistent with Catholic values and these Terms. You will not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any laws
• Upload or transmit content that is offensive, blasphemous, or sacrilegious
• Attempt to deceive or manipulate the AI assistant
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to reverse engineer or extract the underlying technology

12. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of i5labs.ai. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our written permission.

13. Third-Party Services

FaithPal integrates with carefully selected third-party service providers to deliver core functionality including secure payment processing, cloud infrastructure, user authentication, subscription management, and real-time voice communication. These services are chosen for their reliability, security standards, and compliance with industry best practices.

Your use of FaithPal involves interaction with these third-party services, which are governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We ensure that all third-party providers maintain appropriate data protection measures and handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Payment processing is handled exclusively through Apple's secure App Store infrastructure.

14. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, I5LABS.AI DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL I5LABS.AI, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless i5labs.ai and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of FaithPal shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately, and any unused subscription time will be forfeited.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and i5labs.ai regarding the use of FaithPal and supersede any prior agreements between you and i5labs.ai relating to the Service.
